Virtual Therapy for Adults Ready for Change
Compassion, Clarity and Tools That Make a Difference
Virtual therapy for adults across Georgia who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or ready to grow by understanding their history and building healthier ways forward.
I’m Von Grubbs, Psy.D., a licensed psychologist offering virtual therapy for adults across Georgia. My work focuses on understanding the experiences that shaped you—and supporting you as you build new, healthier ways of moving forward. With nearly 30 years as a psychologist, I’ve learned that life is complex, but healing is always possible.
Before opening my practice, I spent years in healthcare leadership roles focused on improving behavioral health systems, strengthening patient outcomes, and increasing quality and value. That work informs my belief that therapy should be accessible, compassionate, and grounded in what actually helps people heal.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, blending insights with practical, science‑based tools. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I’m here to support the wisdom you already carry.
In therapy, I strive to create a space where you feel safe and understood. I also believe humor can be healing and that a little lightness can go a long way. The work is serious, but it doesn’t have to feel heavy every moment. My hope is that you leave each session feeling supported and maybe even a little lighter than when you arrived.
Outside the therapy room, I’m an animal lover with a dog and two cats. The cats have appointed themselves as my office mates who occasionally join sessions and offer their own brand of emotional support.
About Me
Who I Help
I work with adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression and old wounds that still affect them today. Many of my clients come in experiencing worry and overthinking, feelings of not being good enough, or struggles with significant loss or major life changes. My clients are often looking for relief and to feel better about themselves, while others come to therapy wanting to understand what shaped them—the beliefs, experiences, and survival strategies that still influence how they think, feel, and relate to others. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, and as a gay man, I understand many of the experiences my clients bring in.
I specialize in supporting:
- Adults experiencing anxiety or depression who are ready to learn ways to feel better
- LGBTQ+ adults seeking affirming care
- Adults healing from trauma who want to understand how their histories shaped them and how to move forward in healthier ways
- People experiencing grief or loss - from death, breakups, or major transitions
- Adults from conservative or religious families navigating expectations, guilt, or identity tension
- High‑achieving professionals balancing success with stress, burnout, or internal pressure
- Adults rethinking their relationship with alcohol or other substances
- Anyone ready to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful change

Whatever it is, we can make sense of it together.
My Approach
I offer a calm, safe space to understand your past and build healthier patterns for the future. My style is warm, collaborative, and practical. We explore what shaped you, clarify what you want moving forward, and develop tools you can actually use in daily life.
The strategies we work with aren’t random — they’re rooted in science, neurobiology, and what we know about how the brain and nervous system respond to stress, connection, and change. Together, we build skills for managing your thoughts, communication, boundaries, and emotional regulation in ways that feel realistic and sustainable.
At the core of my work is a simple belief: you are the expert on your own life. My role isn’t to tell you who to be or what to choose — it’s to help you understand what shaped you and support the wisdom you already carry to do things differently going forward.
My Approach Includes:
-
Practical, science‑based tools grounded in neurobiology
-
Warm, collaborative exploration of the experiences that shaped you and how they impact you today.
-
Space to understand your history without shame, pressure, or pathologizing
-
Skills for developing self-compassion and increasing self-worth you can use in daily life
-
Support for clearer boundaries and communication in relationships
-
Care that recognizes how your identity, family history, and environment shape your experience
-
A focus on sustainable change, not quick fixes
Payment Options
Fees
I work with self‑pay clients and offer 30‑ and 60‑minute sessions at different rates, depending on what feels most supportive for you. We’ll choose a session length and frequency that fits your needs, your schedule, and your capacity — whether that’s weekly, bi‑weekly, or something more flexible. My goal is to make the logistics feel as manageable and transparent as the work we do together.
I want the financial side of therapy to feel as straightforward as possible. I’m in‑network with select insurance plans, and I also offer self‑pay options for those who prefer more privacy or flexibility.
Self-Pay Rates:
-
60-minutes: $190
-
30-minutes: $95
For clients facing financial strain, I reserve a small number of reduced‑fee openings so care can remain accessible.
